Browsing through Browsers

Haaa.. feels good to be blogging again after a long long time, lot of things goin around these days, blogging was almost last on my mind, but then i finally decided that i need to get back to my blogging ways.

While wandering throught "w3schools". i came across an interesting piece of info, which showed that the most widely used Web Browser for the last month, is I.E(not that we couldnt guess this, but stats make a point)
followed by Netscape,
followed by Mozilla,
and then Firefox.
Reference :: http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/default.asp

Well i know, none of this so far is interesting, however, what did catch my eye was that no where does it even mention "Safari", now this is interesting, coz Apple claims Safari to be the fastest browser on any platform, coz i personally have been using safari for quite some time now and i believe  its got one of the best UI, simple, sober, looks like a document with 1 single layer, looks really cool( a little similar to iTunes).Built-in RSS. The find option is not a small annoying pop-up window that open up in IE.Its a super cool division at the top of the page, where you can enter the text to be found.
One of the best features i would say is the "private browsing" option, when you have this option checked, u dont have to worry abt, deleting the cookies, deleting the offline contents, no info is saved for the auto filling options, has a cool downloads window, which shows a list of all your previous downloads, and a small open icon next to the file name, to open the folder in which its saved and a lot more...

I feel, Safari is one of the best browsers...There is a drawback though, right clicking on the images doesnt give you a properties option for you to check the image name, so for guys who develop websites and web app, with loads of images in it, this can get a little tedious, it does get a little tedious when you dont have the right images at the right place, or similar looking images with different names, but all in all the browsing experience is just amazing.

Agloco..

Internet these days has hugely changed the way business is done, earlier it was only advertisements and marketing aimed at viewers and users who were thought of as the prospective buyers, but now the companies would not mind having the viewers and users as partners, well partners not in the real sense, but yes they definitlety dont mind sharing a small part of their revenue with you.

You would then think, why do they want to share their profits with you, what is in it for them then, well actually, its even more than before, because your revenue is based on certain no. of points that you gain through referrals and advertising in your blog or in your web-site and hence serving a larger audience.

Lot of companies have taken to this form of business on the internet, the google story is the most famous now, its almost a fairy-tale these days, various other companies too are aiming for the top spot, one of them is AGLOCO.

AGLOCO makes it very simple for you, you dont have to create your web-sites or spend hours doing some marketing research stuff. All that you have to do, is download their viewbar, which would very easily settle at the bottom of them window and monitor your browsing habits, what it does through this is serve you with only those advertisement which you are most likely to click on and thus saving you a lot of time and effort and how would you earn revenue, well this is even simpler, coz u just dont have to do anything, just sign-up, download the viewbar once and keep browsing.

Mozilla Firefox..

Browsing the internet is a wonderful entertainment, a very good way to keep yourself updated with the latest news, an easy way to stay in touch with all your friends and also to find your long lost friends, but then whats important is to have the right tool, a good Browser. And thats exactly what mozilla is - A good browser. Well, after using IE for a long time, i just wanted to try some new browser and mozilla just amazed me.
Mozilla has launched the Mozilla Firefox-2, which is, as expected even better than the earlier version, it gives a much better browsing experience, with the new pages being opened in a new tab, so that your taskbar doesnt gets overloaded with all the open windows. The spelling checks that we earlier had only in text-editors is now available in this firefox browser. One of it's best features is the "SessionRestore" which actually restores your previous session and takes you to the point where u left of, even the details entered in a form are retained, saving you the trouble of having to go through it all over again..
And with all these features available the security couldnt have been left behind, it offers the users "Phishing Protection" which helps you safe guard your financial details and identity theft, it even checks for forgeries on the website, so when ever firefox finds a suspected forgery on the web-site it offers you to take to a search page where u can search for the page that you were looking for. Automated updates and spyware protection along with pop-up blocking makes the browsing experience even better and safer and faster..
And with the integration of google, yahoo, creative common you are almost assured of getting the correct search result.
So all you guys who have never used mozilla firefox, you surely have missed some thing good.

iPhone

After a legal battle between Cisco and Apple over infringement of the trademark of "iPhone", the companies finally came to a settlement and the much awaited iPhone is slated for a June launch.

This beauty is said to combine three amazing products — a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching — into one small and lightweight handheld device.
The interface is a large multi-touch display with a new software, messaging would be a lot more easier with predictive inputs, so it prevents and corrects mistakes.
The technology that goes into this cell phone is amazing :

* Multi-Touch :
iPhone features the most revolutionary user interface since the mouse. It’s an entirely new interface based on a large multi-touch display and innovative new software that lets you control everything using only your fingers, glide through albums with Cover Flow, flip through photos and email them with a touch, or zoom in and out on a section of a web page — all by simply using the multi-touch display.

* The phone works on Apple's very own OS X

* iPhone uses quad-band GSM. It also supports EDGE network, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 2.0 with Enhanced Data Rate, which links to Apple’s new Bluetooth headset

* Now, this is perhaps the best feature of this cell phone, iPhone’s accelerometer detects when you rotate the device from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display, so you immediately see the entire width of a web page or a photo in its proper landscape aspect ratio.
The proximity sensor detects when you lift iPhone to your ear and immediately turns off the display to save power and prevent inadvertent touches until iPhone is moved away.

An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the display’s brightness to the appropriate level for the current ambient light, thereby enhancing the user experience and saving power at the same time.

* The phone would be available with a 4GB and an 8GB Memory.

* The iPhone also has an integrated 2MegaPixel camera, and this is where i feel the phone scores low, with so many cell phones in the market which have upto 3.2MP camera, the 2MP camera feels a let down, the photographers inside us expected something better.....

On the whole, this is truely, one amazing cell phone, a breakthrough technology which would surely capture the cell phone market pretty soon, and that is precisely what Apple aims to do when it annouced that its goal is to capture 1% of the global mobile phone market, which would be approximately 10 million units being sold in the first full calendar year of iPhone availability.

The first advertisement for the iPhone was aired during the academy awards,
the ad can be viewed at the apple web site....

Electronic Grey Cells........?? Possible !!

Till about five decades back, intelligence was something that was associated only with human beings and animals, but then in the year 1955 John McCarthy, changed it all, when he stunned the world with a term only he could think of - "Artificial Intellingence" . Since then this field of science has always fascinated numerous scholars, researchers and scientists all over the world.

So what exactly is Arificial Intelligence ?
According to John McCarthy "It is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs " It is related to the similar task of using computers to understand human intelligence, and the intelligence is the ability of the machine to achieve the goals that it was programmed to achieve. The AI is a technology which is aimed at simulating human behaviour.

But then the problem with these machines is that they are good at achieving only those goals for which humans have already deviced a pattern, or those functions which the humans already know how to perform, their intelligence is limited to what their progammers have written in the programm for them, they hence can not perform any functions beyond those defined for it.

But then, these machines have the speed and the memory, hence its easy for them to predict the probability of a solution under the set conditions, they have the potential to interpret statistics, to formulate rules and to perform huge calculations in a matter of microseconds, which no human can ever perform.

The ultimate goal of AI is to achieve human-level intelligence, but then this matter is further complicated by the fact that science still, has not succeeded in determining exactly what the human abilities are.

There are also few people who think AI is a bad idea. The philosopher Hubert Dreyfus says that AI is impossible. The philosopher John Searle says that the idea of a non-biological machine being intelligent is incoherent. The computer scientist Joseph Weizenbaum says the idea is obscene, anti-human and immoral.

But no matter, what people say, I am sure, AI is a very good idea and making these intelligent machines is very much possible no matter the kind of difficulties that are being faced now, in the near future AI will only be as common as a cell phone, after all we humans are born intelligent.

Nope, its not your face, remember the thing called "Plastic Surgery", some nerdo can very easily hack ur identity as well, then what is it that makes u different from anyone else....
Yeah right, it's your DNA...
N just how would ur DNA sample appear on the net, well, theres something called a VisualDNA, so why not get ur own VisualDNA, its fun, it good and gives u an insight of who u actually are...
Heres my VisualDNA......

Global Blogging....

We all read the newspapers everyday, listen to the news everyday, listen to the radio on the move.
We hence, always try to keep ourselves updated about the things going on in the other parts of the state, the country, the globe, we always hear about various events taking place somewhere else, various issues that are being tackled in a certain manner, and how many times have we had an opinion on the same, but felt helpless about not being able to do anything, or tell anyone about your opinions, I say "most of the times", the best you could do, is put up the topic as a conversation that u have with ur friends, share ur views with him/them, even argue on the same, and thats it.
But now thats all changed, thanks to the blessing on the net which we call Blogging, now our views and opinions are not limited to just ourselves, it's for us to share around the world, share it with different people, share it with friends, share it with people we have never even met in our entire life, and in all probability people whom we never even would meet in the future. Here you can speak out your likes, your dislikes, your protests, your support for certain things and on and on and on and on........
And so, I say, "two Thumbs up to Blogging", one of the best things on the internet !
